While continuing their search for the legendary Sword of Cortés, the crew of the Barnacle is entranced by an ethereal song, which causes each to try to sail the Barnacle in a direction away from the sword's supposed location. Only the Barnacle's captain, young Jack Sparrow, is unaffected by the strange song, so he alone must try to subdue his crew and defeat the mysterious force behind the spell.

Jack Sparrow and crew return to New Orleans in search of the Barnacle's first mate Arabella, finding instead a city presided over by the notorious Madame Minuit and policed by pirates.
