My name is Julia Ross is based on the book The woman in red / by Anthony Gilbert. The mob is based on the Collier's magazine story Waterfront / by Ferguson Findley. Drive a crooked road is from a story by James Benson Nablo. Tight spot is based upon the play Dead pigeon by Lenard Kantor. The burglar is adapted from the novel The burglar / by David Goodis.
